Driving licenses issued by the Mobility Institute of Quintana Roo State (IMOVEQROO) now feature advanced security measures. These include pre-printed plastic with concealed features, a security window, biometric fingerprint data, facial and voice recognition, an autograph signature, and a QR code on the back for validation. IMOVEQROO's head, Rodrigo Alcázar, stated that these measures not only ensure nationwide validity of the licenses, but also protect the identity and rights of the drivers.

Alcázar emphasized that these enhancements align with the New Agreement for Well-being and Development for Quintana Roo, initiated by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa. The agreement aims to prevent corruption, guarantee transparency in procedures, and foster a closer relationship with citizens. He stressed that IMOVEQROO's licenses meet the highest security standards and ensure the protection of personal data.

"Drivers holding Quintana Roo licenses can rest assured that their licenses are recognized and accepted nationwide. This provides peace of mind and security when traveling on the country's roads," Alcázar said. So far this year, IMOVEQROO has issued a total of 84,153 licenses in the state.

As per Article 215 Bis of the Mobility Law Regulation of Quintana Roo State, the licenses issued by the Institute are categorized as follows:

  • TYPE A: Private use of cars and motorcycles.
  • TYPE B: Private cargo and passenger service.
  • TYPE C: Public cargo and passenger service.
  • TYPE E: Driving ambulances, emergency vehicles, school transport, tourist transport, and personnel transport.

For further details about the validity and procedures related to driving licenses, citizens can visit the official website of the Institute or contact them at 983 156 4739.
