In Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the newly appointed board of directors for the Playa del Carmen Rotary Club Empresarial has set their sights on empowering girls. This year, their primary focus will be on implementing programs that promote equal opportunities for young girls in society.
Following the induction of the new board members, Roselia Rodriguez Prieto, the President of the Rotary Club of Playa del Carmen Empresarial for 2024-2025, shared their plans. With the assistance of experts, they aim to conduct seminars at educational institutions. Collaboration with other organizations will be crucial for extending their reach and achieving optimal results.
The board also intends to collaborate with teenagers on programs designed to prevent risks and equip them with the necessary tools to tackle challenges in a safe and responsible manner. Prieto emphasized the club’s commitment to providing children and young people with better opportunities and access to more information, highlighting the importance of these projects.
Jorge Carlos Lopez Mena, a member of the Rotary Club Cancun Hotel Zone, explained that each club tailors its program according to the needs of its community. These programs are developed with societal input and the support of foundations and companies, aiming to benefit a large number of people. Mena clarified that the club’s mission is not to provide individual assistance or act as a charity, but to provide a service that benefits the community at large and encourages ongoing community involvement.
