Football Prodigy Nicolás Burtovoy Takes Helm at Inter Playa del Carmen

Nicolás Burtovoy, a respected figure in Quintana Roo football, has been announced as the new technical director of the Premier League's Inter Playa del Carmen. Burtovoy comes from a family with a rich footballing history, having previously been part of the technical management of several renowned teams including Atlante of Liga Mx, Cancún FC in Liga Expansión MX, Caimanes de Cancún and Deportiva Venados in Liga TDP, and Club Atlético Quintanarroense from the Amateur Sector.

The announcement was made on June 29, 2024, during the General Ordinary National Assembly of Clubs of the Premier League in Quintana Roo. The director of Club Inter Playa del Carmen, Amador Gutiérrez, and the president of the professional circuit, CP José Vázquez, introduced Burtovoy as the new coach of the Premier League team.

Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Burtovoy is a professional technical director certified by the Argentine Football Technicians Association. He has lived in Quintana Roo with his family for 19 years. His father, José Luis Burtovoy, was a legendary goalkeeper for Unión Santa Fe, Colón, Boca Juniors, among others. His brothers, José Pablo Burtovoy, director of education for FIFPRO (Football Players Worldwide), and Leandro Luis Burtovoy, a technical director with experience in Spain and Argentina, are also notable figures in football.

Burtovoy's professional experience is extensive. He has served as the technical director of Club Cerro Porteño de Presidente Franco in the Paraguayan Football League and as a technical assistant in the first division of Argentina with Arsenal de Sarandí. His experience also includes working with Union La Calera in the first division of Chile and Copa Sudamericana, the "White Roosters" of Querétaro in the Liga MX, the "Iron Colts" of Atlante in Liga MX, and Cafetaleros de Chiapas.

"I take on this challenge with enthusiasm as I know the importance of the club in the Premier League. It's a great opportunity, very ambitious, and I'm ready to seize it. We're going to start working as soon as possible, we won't skimp on effort and we're moving forward. We want to have a team which our fans can feel represented by," said Nicolás Burtovoy.

In the coming days, Burtovoy and his soon-to-be-announced technical staff will lead preseason preparations for the 2024-2025 Premier League tournament. The presentation to the media also included Professor Enrique Lobato, sports director.
