A nightclub owner and concert promoter, known as Tomás S., was killed in a shooting incident on Huayacán Avenue, Cancún. The primary line of investigation is drug trafficking, with at least four gunmen believed to be involved in the attack. Three other men were also injured during the incident, two of whom are suspected to be the bodyguards of the deceased.

The assailants reportedly arrived at the victim's under-construction site, soon to be opened as a terrace bar, in a taxi. They fired more than 50 shots before fleeing down Prolongación La Luna Avenue. The shooting took place at the Babylon establishment, situated in Superblock 228.

Following the incident, the area was cordoned off, and the State Attorney General's Office was called in to investigate the attack. This assault resulted in the death of the businessman and injuries to three other men.

Forensic experts and investigating police officers arrived at the scene shortly after. It was reported that Tomás S. had sustained at least 10 gunshot wounds to his chest, abdomen, arms, pelvis, and lumbar area, leading to his immediate death. His body was later moved to the Forensic Medical Service facilities.

Upon examining the scene, investigators found a cigarette pack containing a bag of what is suspected to be marijuana. They also recovered 57 spent cartridges and three bullet fragments of .380 and 9 millimeter calibers. It is believed that at least four individuals were involved in the shooting, who then escaped down La Luna Avenue.

Despite the incident being captured on surveillance cameras, the suspects have not yet been located.
