In an unexpected security operation, National Guard officers increased their presence around Cancún International Airport. The aim of this operation was to ensure that only authorized transport services were operating in the vicinity.
As a result of this operation, nine vehicles were found to be providing transportation services without the necessary permits. These vehicles, which included several Uber cars, were immediately taken out of service.
On the same day, two men were arrested after they were caught on camera assaulting a driver from a digital platform at the airport. The suspects, identified as Enrique N and Javier Isaías N, are believed to have extorted the victim twice, demanding payments of 10,000 and 7,000 pesos respectively for the right to work at the airport.
These details were provided by the Quintana Roo Prosecutor's Office, who stated that these initial findings were part of an ongoing investigation.
