Fatal Accident on Playa del Carmen-Tulum Highway

A severe accident occurred on Christmas morning along the Playa del Carmen-Tulum stretch of Federal Highway 307. The incident resulted in one fatality and left another person seriously injured.

The accident took place around 6:00 a.m. near Xpu-Ha. The riders of a black Pulsar motorcycle, bearing the license plate number 34UHE3, lost control due to excessive speed and skidded off the road. Paramedics arrived promptly at the scene, but one of the riders was pronounced dead on the spot. The other rider was transported to a nearby hospital in a critical condition.

Members of the National Guard were quick to respond to the accident. They took on the task of directing traffic to prevent further incidents and ensure the safety of other drivers in the area. An investigation was also launched to ascertain the exact causes of the crash.

The motorcycle involved in the accident was removed from the scene by a tow truck and taken to a pound. Meanwhile, forensic experts collected the deceased's body, which remains unidentified. The Forensic Medical Service is awaiting family members for identification.

The Playa del Carmen-Tulum section of Federal Highway 307 has a notorious reputation for numerous accidents, many of which are speed-related. Authorities continue to urge drivers to exercise extreme caution and adhere to speed limits to avoid such tragedies.

This tragic incident has cast a shadow over the region's Christmas celebrations, emphasizing the importance of road safety, particularly during the busy holiday season in Quintana Roo.
