Inhabitants of Superblock 107 in Cancún were alarmed when they discovered a crocodile lurking in puddles left by recent rains. The fire department was called in to safely relocate the reptile.

A local resident, enjoying his morning coffee outside his home in the Urbi subdivision, initially mistook the crocodile for a log in a puddle on Isla Canaria street. Upon realizing it was a one-meter long crocodile, he immediately dialed 911.

The task of capturing and relocating the crocodile was handed over to the firefighters. On arrival, they spotted the small reptile near the buildings and swiftly secured it before returning it to its natural habitat.

Interestingly, the crocodile's natural habitat, the mangrove, is several kilometers away from the neighborhood. It remains unclear how the reptile ended up in this residential area. One theory is that it may have been kept as a pet by a local resident and escaped during the recent heavy rains.
