Over 300 female riders took part in the 5th Cancún-Isla Mujeres 2025 Female Horse Ride last weekend. The event, which marked International Women's Day, saw riders from across the country come together for an 11-kilometer journey.

This year, the event welcomed female riders from other states including Chiapas, Campeche, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo. There was notable participation from representatives of various cities and towns such as Escárcega, Chetumal, Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos, Valladolid, Tizimín, Colonia La Sierra, Kantunilkín, and Holbox. Cancún-based stables also showed their support by joining the ride.

The journey began at Cuadra Los Primos in Cancún and concluded at Rancho Santa Cruz, located in the continental area of Isla Mujeres.

The ride was accompanied by over 600 attendees, including men who supported and protected their wives and daughters throughout the event. The family-oriented gathering was peaceful and well-organized, with safety measures in place. Municipal Transit, Citizen Security, and medical services were on hand to ensure participant safety.

The welfare of the horses and their riders was a top priority. Veterinarians were present and hydration points were set up for the horses. Event organizers, Lupita Canul, Leona Coronel, and Lili Viveros, expressed their appreciation to the sponsors and everyone who contributed to the successful day of unity and equality.

"This horse ride is more than a celebration. It's a reminder of the significant role women play in all areas, including the equestrian world," they said.

Given the success of this year's ride, anticipation is already building for the next one. The 6th Cancún-Isla Mujeres 2026 Female Horse Ride is scheduled for March 7, 2026, reinforcing the commitment to enhancing the visibility of women in the equestrian world.
