Official Statements on the Return to Classes
Xavier Méndez, spokesperson for the Central Struggle Committee of Quintana Roo, confirmed the statewide return to classes on April 28. However, he noted that teachers may join a national strike called by the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE) on May 15.
Regarding the recovery of lost class time, Méndez stated, “Flexible and supportive strategies will be implemented to ensure a gradual and meaningful reintegration of students.”
Lorenzo Olivera González, Undersecretary of Basic Education in the state, confirmed that all 1,400 basic education schools are in optimal condition to resume classes.
