Over 60 individuals participated in a clean up event at Tulum's Caleta Tankah beach. This event was held in honor of the 43rd anniversary of the National Park's designation as a protected natural area.
The event was organized with the support of the Tulum Municipal Council, park collaborators, the Environmental Network, the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas, and the Secrets Akumal hotel. All of these entities came together to make a difference last Saturday.
Participants collected solid waste and plastics during the clean up. They managed to gather 31.1 kilograms of recyclable waste, 240 kilograms of trash, and 600 grams of infectious biological hazardous waste. In total, they removed 271.1 kilograms of waste from the beach.
This initiative showcases the Environmental Network's dedication to environmental protection. It also highlights their ongoing collaboration with entities like the Tulum National Park to promote sustainable conservation practices.
