The 11th annual Paint & Run race aims to exceed two thousand participants. This social integration event benefits the Child Development Centers (CENDIS) managed by DIF Cozumel. In the previous year, the 5K race attracted 1,760 participants and raised a donation of 50,000 pesos for DIF. This year, the goal is to increase participation and, in turn, the resources provided to the institution. This initiative is part of the brand's social commitment to the communities where their events are held.
The race will take place on Monday, March 3. The participation fee is 350 pesos, which includes a kit containing a shirt, glasses, a race number, and colored powders that will be used to create a vibrant color cloud at the end of the race. Participants will run through stations where they are showered with food-grade colored powders, adding a fun and colorful element to the event.
The race is intended to become a tradition within the Cozumel Carnival. The plan is to formalize this once the event has concluded, adding another attraction to the carnival festivities and providing a fresh addition to the community's biggest celebration.
In the spirit of inclusivity, 120 free kits will be provided this year. Eighty of these will go to people with disabilities and 40 to para-athletes from the municipality. The event is also pet-friendly, inviting all members of the community to join in the fun.
