A fatal accident took place this morning around 8:00 a.m. near the Palladium Hotel, located at kilometer 260 of Federal Highway 307. A man was fatally struck by a vehicle as he attempted to cross the highway.
The impact of the collision threw the victim into a nearby planter. He was found at the scene without signs of life. Various local law enforcement agencies, including the Municipal Police, the National Guard, and the State Attorney General's Office, promptly arrived at the scene to manage the situation and recover the body.
The area was temporarily closed off while investigators from the Prosecutor's office carried out their duties. It was noted that some personal items belonging to the deceased, including a shoe, were found at the point of impact.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident was not present when authorities arrived, and their current location is unknown. The investigation is ongoing to establish the facts and identify the driver.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed. Once all necessary procedures have been completed, his family will be able to arrange for his burial.
