PIMSA Faces Defeat in Landfill Concession Battle

PIMSA, a real estate developer based in Majahual, has failed in its attempt to halt the process of determining compensation for the rescission of its landfill concession in the Benito Juárez municipality. The company's legal protection was unsuccessful in dismissing decisions taken in the First Regular Session of the Special Commission, as well as notification procedures carried out on October 25th and 26th, 2023. PIMSA has filed four protections against the suspension of the public waste disposal service in its final phase of urban solid waste processing, which previously handled 1,300 tons per day.

The rescission was approved during the private Thirty-Seventh Extraordinary Session of Benito Juárez's City Council on August 25th, 2024.

One of the guarantee trials was definitively resolved with a legal setback for PIMSA in a federal court. This left the case in its original state, a ruling that was subsequently upheld by a superior court. The Second Collegiate Tribunal's resolution stated that the dismissal was legally unassailable once the sentence was final, with no grounds for appeal.
