“Playa del Carmen Shines with 15 Blue Flag Awards – Leading the Way in Quintana Roo!”

A tranquil beach with clear turquoise waters, white sand, people relaxing, and beachfront properties under a clear blue sky.

Playa del Carmen's coasts are looking pristine, having recently received 15 Blue Flag certifications. This recognition is not only for the beaches but also for two vessels. Quintana Roo leads the nation in earning these distinctions, but the municipality of Solidaridad, under the governance of Lili Campos Miranda, boasts the most Blue Flag certified beaches in the state.

The beaches in Playa del Carmen that have earned this prestigious certification include both public and concessioned coasts. These are Iberostar Playa Paraíso, Iberostar Tucán & Quetzal, Pelícanos, Playa 88, Punta Esmeralda, Xcalacoco, Montecarlo, Playa 72, Pretel Norte, Playa Cisne, Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Resort and Spa, Hotel Viva Maya by Wyndham, Hotel Viva Azteca by Wyndham, Hotel Ocean Riviera Paradise, and Hotel Ocean Maya Royale.

Not only are these beaches immaculately clean and breathtakingly beautiful, but they also offer a full range of services. Some of them are even accessible and inclusive.

In addition to the beaches, Playa del Carmen can now boast of two vessels with Blue Flag certification. These are the 'Delfín' and 'Mantarraya', both owned by the company Xcaret Xailing.

Playa del Carmen has also received international recognition for a project on sargassum management, further cementing its reputation as a leading destination for sustainable tourism.
