“Join the Green Revolution at Playa del Carmen’s Reciclatón Event!”

The municipal waste collection initiative, Reciclatón, is scheduled for Friday, May 3. The program will operate from 14 designated collection points, starting from 9 in the morning. The aim is to encourage a culture of recycling among local businesses and residents.

A variety of materials will be accepted, including cardboard, electronics, PET containers, plastic, and glass. These items will be properly processed to reduce pollution and prevent them from ending up in the local landfill.

The Department of Environmental Management and Climate Change encourages the public to continue gathering their recyclable materials. These should be delivered clean and bagged at any of the 14 collection points, conveniently located for easy drop-off.

Collection points include the esplanade of the new municipal palace, parking lots of the Poliforum, Plaza Las Americas, Chedraui Villas del Sol, Centro Maya, Super Aki on avenue 30 with street 14, La Ceiba park, the building of the municipality of Puerto Aventuras, Monument to the Mother park, and the domes of Colosio, Misión de Las Flores, and La Guadalupana.

Additional locations include the Cofepris facilities on Juarez Avenue and the skate park in Puerto Aventuras. Future collection dates for the next three months are scheduled for June 7, July 5, and August 2.
