The government-owned plot in the Palmas 1 subdivision of Quintana Roo, originally requested as a loan for the construction of a Senior Citizen's Home, will now be donated to the Solidaridad Municipality. This donation will ensure the development and operation of the home, according to Jesús Rodríguez, the general director of the Solidaridad DIF System.
Municipal president Estefanía Mercado Asencio has formally requested the land donation, which has been accepted. This means the Municipality will soon take possession of the plot and commence construction of the center dedicated to elderly care.
Rodríguez emphasized that the president has made efforts to secure the land donation to expedite the construction of the Senior Citizen's Home. This space will provide much-needed support, particularly for those elderly individuals living alone.
Rodríguez also highlighted the high demand for senior care facilities in Solidaridad. The existing Senior Citizen's Club in the Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood is at capacity and unable to accommodate more people. He is hopeful that the new Senior Citizen's Home will be completed within the current administration, expanding the availability of care and recreational services for seniors.
This project is part of the Solidaridad Municipality and municipal DIF's efforts to improve living conditions for the elderly. The aim is to provide a dignified space where seniors can receive care, companionship, and engage in recreational activities.
