“Pok Ta Pok Estate Seeks Green Transformation – What You Need to Know!”

The proprietors of the Pok Ta Pok estate have once again called for a regional Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Peninsula Cancun Project. This proposed development spans over 24.91 hectares of land and includes an additional 33.25 hectares earmarked for green spaces.

The project encompasses residential housing, hotel accommodations, commercial areas, roads, and green spaces spread throughout the site. The Hazama Corporation Tourism Development S.A. de C.V has planned a total investment of 23,961 million pesos for this venture.

The project initially received approval in September 2022, and the developers are now seeking re-approval to proceed with their plans in Cancun's hotel zone.

In contrast, the residents of the Pok Ta Pok community are advocating for the conversion of the golf course into a public area. They believe this would benefit both the local community and tourists by preserving this green space and making it accessible to all.

The future of this space and its potential transformation into a mixed-use development remains a topic of ongoing debate.
