In Playa del Carmen, a car was shot at by armed individuals earlier this afternoon. The driver, believed to be an on-duty police officer, reportedly fled the scene. The incident occurred around 2 pm on 14th Street, between 130th and 135th Avenues.

Local police responded quickly, cordoning off the area. Residents reported hearing at least five gunshots during the attack. The assailants are believed to be two individuals on a motorcycle.

The driver's current location remains unknown, but it's assumed he left the scene after his grey Chevrolet was targeted. Representatives from the State Attorney General's office arrived to process the vehicle, which was left in the middle of the road. No blood was found at the scene, only five spent shell casings.

The vehicle was later moved to the Public Ministry for further investigation.
