Cyclone Sara Brewing in Caribbean Amid Ongoing Hurricane Season

The National Weather Service (NWS) is closely monitoring a developing low-pressure area in the Caribbean Sea. This weather system currently has a 10 percent chance of developing into a cyclone within the next 48 hours, and a 50 percent chance within the next week. If the system strengthens into a storm, it will be named Sara.

The low-pressure area is situated approximately 1,760 kilometers east of Cancun, in Quintana Roo. It is gradually moving westward.
