Residents of InHouse Without Power Until Early Morning

The InHouse subdivision saw a full restoration of its electricity service around 3:30 am today. This came two hours after residents cleared the roads they had been blocking in protest.

The Director of Citizen Participation in the Solidaridad City Council, who had a near altercation with the protestors yesterday, confirmed that a team from the Federal Electricity Commission arrived three hours into the protest. They were there to inspect the transformers and restore the service.

"We were able to address the people and pacify them, hearing out their issues and grievances," said the city official. He also mentioned that other parts of the city experienced power outages last night. The affected areas included the Luis Donaldo Colosio district, parts of the Gonzalo Guerrero district, Villas del Sol, Las Flores, Palmas, La Guadalupana, and Villamar Dos.

The official further revealed that they were informed about a nationwide statement from the CFE. The statement addressed system failures at some power plants that disrupted supply in at least 10 states. This could have been the cause of the power outages.

Even though the service has been restored, the official noted that the utility will continue to monitor the facilities to prevent further disruptions. The residents of InHouse have expressed their willingness to update their payments for the service to facilitate mediation.

"The service has been restored, but the CFE must remain vigilant about service saturation due to high temperatures, which can cause problems in other transformers," he added.

The city official emphasized the need for the utility to invest in reinforcing substations, power stations, transformers, and wiring in the city. Power outages have been a recurring issue in the area.

"It's a situation we have experienced in the municipality, but also in the state and the country in general. Investment is needed," he criticized.

It's worth noting that besides the roadblock created by InHouse residents at the intersection of Constituyentes Avenue with Lilis Avenue, another group of protesters set up a barricade on the same avenue at the intersection with Paseos del Mayab. This was fully cleared just after 3 am.
