From Saturday, May 11th to Friday, May 17th, 892 pretrial inmates in three Quintana Roo prisons will participate in a voting process. This information comes from the National Electoral Institute (INE). The only federal electoral district in the state not involved in this process is Cancún's third district, as it does not contain any penitentiary centers.
According to the set schedule, on Saturday, May 11th, 713 inmates from the State Penitentiary Center (CPE) 2 in Region 99 of Cancún will vote. This region corresponds to the 603rd electoral section of the Federal Electoral District (DEF) 4. The group of voters includes 642 men and 71 women.
On Wednesday, May 15th, 47 male inmates from CPE 3 in Cozumel's Industrial neighborhood will cast their votes. This location is part of the 203rd electoral section of DEF 1.
Lastly, on Friday, May 17th, 132 inmates from CPE 1 in Chetumal, the capital city, will vote. This group is part of the 378th electoral section of DEF 2 and includes 125 men and 7 women.
The votes from these pretrial detainees will be held by the respective District Electoral Boards and counted on June 2nd.
