Victor Alfonso Culebro Morales, a well-known journalist and news portal administrator, was tragically murdered in Jiquipilas, Chiapas. The 39-year-old was the son of former Chiapas Government Secretary, Mario Carlos Culebro Velasco. His body was found abandoned at kilometer 28 of the Arriaga-Jiquipilas highway, according to the State Attorney General's Office.

The Central District Attorney's Office has opened investigations into the crime, which they have classified as an aggravated homicide. Morales was the operator of the Facebook news page "Realities, Journalism with truth." His body was discovered with his hands bound and his face obscured with duct tape.

Morales was last seen wearing denim trousers, a blue shirt, and black shoes, as reported by the police. He was born in San Cristóbal de Las Casas and was residing in the Santo Domingo neighborhood of the Cintalapa municipality with his partner and two children.

Morales was known to frequently travel to San Cristóbal, where he operated a bulk water sales business. His father, Mario Carlos Culebro Velasco, is a member of the PRI and has held several political positions including mayor of Socoltenango, federal and local deputy, Secretary of Mobility and Transport, and government secretary with Manuel Velasco Coello.
