In an effort to bolster social harmony and decrease crime rates, Estefanía Mercado, the municipal mayor, has announced the upcoming inauguration of a Mediation Center in Puerto Aventuras. The center will be housed in the Municipal Police Command building and will be run by experts in conflict resolution. Their role will be to peacefully and effectively address neighborhood and interpersonal disputes.
Puerto Aventuras has seen significant population growth, which has brought with it new social challenges, such as an increase in citizen conflicts and a higher crime rate. In response to these issues, the mayor emphasized the need for innovative strategies, like Community Mediation, to encourage dialogue and prevent issues from escalating to legal levels.
With the inauguration of this new center, the municipality will now have three Mediation Centers. The new center in Puerto Aventuras joins the existing ones in the Villamar 1 subdivision and the new Municipal Palace. These centers have proven to be instrumental in resolving community conflicts and preventing situations that could potentially escalate into larger problems.
The new Mediation Center in Puerto Aventuras, located on Ciricote street, between Copte and Caoba, aims to provide a safe and suitable environment for those looking to peacefully resolve their differences. The center will feature administrative offices to receive and track neighborhood complaints, as well as specialized rooms for mediation hearings, ensuring an efficient and transparent process.
Estefanía Mercado expressed her commitment to social welfare, stating, "Our goal is to increasingly provide assistance to the entire population and ensure that no one is left behind in building a safer and more harmonious community."
