The Puerto Aventuras Sailing Club played host to the second stage of the Quintana Roo State Sailing Association Circuit, an important event to determine the team that will represent the state at the 2025 CONADE National Games. Sailors from Bacalar, Cancún, Cozumel, and Puerto Aventuras gathered for an extraordinary competition, showcasing their talent and aiming to defend their national title next year. Battling shifting winds, the sailors demonstrated their adaptability and skill under the coordination of the State Association led by Adriana Quiterio.
The selection process for sailors representing Quintana Roo at the 2025 CONADE National Games is a structured and competitive endeavor. The Quintana Roo State Sailing Association organizes a series of regattas, known as the State Sailing Circuit, to evaluate and rank sailors across various categories. These events bring together athletes from different municipalities, including Bacalar, Cancún, Cozumel, and Puerto Aventuras, fostering a competitive environment that mirrors the challenges of national competitions.
Throughout the circuit, sailors accumulate points based on their performance in each regatta. The association meticulously tracks these results to identify the top performers in each class and age group. This merit-based system ensures that selections are transparent and based on consistent performance.
In addition to regatta results, the selection committee considers factors such as sailors’ adaptability to varying weather conditions, teamwork, adherence to sportsmanship principles, and overall commitment to the sport. This holistic approach aims to build a well-rounded team capable of representing the state with distinction at the national level.
The ultimate goal of this selection process is to assemble a team that not only excels in sailing proficiency but also embodies the values and spirit of Quintana Roo. By fostering a culture of excellence and fair competition, the association strives to uphold the state’s proud tradition in sailing and achieve success at the 2025 CONADE National Games.
