The "Mario Molina Pasquel" secondary school in Puerto Morelos showcased the talent of its students and staff with a Tourist Fair and Living Museum. The event was held at the iconic Ventana al Mar in the Old Town. José de Jesús Espinosa Payán, general secretary of the City Council, inaugurated the event on behalf of municipal president Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz. He praised the event for its display of Mexican culture and the celebration of life, history, customs, and traditions.
From early in the day, students and teachers set up stands at the Ventana al Mar. Each stand highlighted the geography, history, cuisine, customs, traditions, and Magical Towns of a specific Mexican state. Each stand also featured a Day of the Dead altar in the style of the represented state. The states represented included Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Yucatán, Veracruz, Sinaloa, Chiapas, Puebla, Sonora, Guerrero, Morelos, Michoacán, Chihuahua, Oaxaca, Jalisco, and Mexico City.
The event also included a cultural program with traditional dances from Quintana Roo performed by the teaching staff. Students performed an interpretation of La Llorona with guitars and recorders. The State Police Orchestra also participated in the event.
Among the attendees were Guadalupe Abigail Martínez G. Cantón, the school's director; Sara Sánchez Canul, director of the Municipal Institute of Education of the City Council; Aimée Rodríguez Vivas, Secretary of the Environment, Animal Welfare, and Sustainable Mobility; Arlette Escudero Ordóñez, director of the Municipal Institute of Women; Raúl Guadarrama García, Secretary of Sustainable Tourism; and Karla Barceló, president of the Parents' Association. These individuals also participated in the inaugural ribbon-cutting.
