Puerto Morelos Mayor Alleged Ties to Organized Crime in Cancún!

A banner with handwritten text hung on a fence next to a concrete pole lying on the ground, with various names and messages written in Spanish.

Allegations have emerged suggesting ties between police, public officials, and organized crime in Cancún's Region 225. The Mayor of Puerto Morelos, Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz, is accused of collaborating with the Four Letters Cartel.

These accusations surfaced following a violent incident involving gunfire and the discovery of a narco-banner. The banner, found alongside several spent bullet casings, implicated the mayor in criminal activities.

This is not the first time Mayor Tziu Muñoz has been linked to organized crime. Previously, her name appeared on a narco-banner that contained threats against her.

Several months ago, bags containing human remains were found near her residence. In a separate incident, a murder occurred near properties owned by the mayor's family and her ex-husband.

One of the most notable incidents involved a murder attributed to a rival criminal group. Armed individuals killed a man on the federal highway connecting Puerto Morelos with Mérida, near a mechanic's workshop known as El Chilango.
