Businesses in Quintana Roo, Mexico, are increasingly interested in leveraging the opportunities presented by the Maya Train project and various tax incentives to boost trade with Belize and the rest of Central America. This sentiment has been echoed by several voices within the private sector, including Josué Osmany Palomo Hoil, the newly elected president of Coparmex Chetumal.

Palomo Hoil believes the Maya Train could serve as a catalyst to strengthen ties with Central America and the Caribbean. He sees the recent invitation from Belize's Prime Minister, John Briseño, for Mara Lezama and Yensunni Martínez to visit Belize as an opportunity that should not be missed.

Palomo Hoil pointed out that Belize is keen on fortifying communication bridges that can bring regional benefits. Both the Prime Minister of Belize and the Minister of Agriculture, Food Security and Business, José Abelardo Mai, have underscored the significance of the Maya Train. They have even expressed their interest in extending the train line to Belize, which could serve as a connection point with Central American countries and the Commonwealth of the Caribbean.
