The XVIII Legislature of the State Congress in Quintana Roo has approved a federal reform to ban vapes and electronic cigarettes. This move is part of a broader strategy to protect public health in accordance with local laws.

During the 38th session of the first legislative period, lawmakers approved the draft of this federal reform. The legislation not only bans vapes and e-cigarettes, but also establishes penalties for the production, distribution, and sale of toxic substances and chemical precursors.

The law also targets the illicit use of fentanyl and other synthetic drugs that are not authorized for consumption. This comprehensive ban is part of Quintana Roo's ongoing efforts to protect the health and safety of its residents.
