Quintana Roo Celebrates Pioneers of Progress in Grand Ceremony

Governor Mara Lezama recently presented awards to individuals who have played a significant role in the development of Quintana Roo. The ceremony took place at the Constituyentes del 74 Theater and was part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of Quintana Roo's establishment as a Free and Sovereign State.

The awards recognized those who have significantly impacted the state's history and progress. A total of 61 individuals were honored for their contributions in various fields including arts, culture, education, sports, research, human rights, the environment, and sustainable cultural tourism.

In addition to the awards, 18 individuals born on October 8, 1974, received identity certificates. These individuals have grown up alongside the state, symbolizing Quintana Roo's progress and transformation over the past five decades.

The event was attended by prominent government figures, municipal chroniclers, and local leaders. They highlighted the importance of these contributions in fostering a more prosperous and robust Quintana Roo.
