Quintana Roo, a Mexican state, is planning commercial ventures to Belize, Japan, and Orlando, United States, to export a variety of locally made products. Paul Carrillo, Secretary of Economic Development of Quintana Roo, stated that they have identified ten products that meet all export requirements. These products will be showcased in upcoming fairs in Japan and Orlando to penetrate the Asian and US East Coast markets respectively.

Among the companies set to participate in these ventures are two chocolate manufacturers, salsa producers, peanut growers, and Chicza, a brand of organic chewing gum from southern Quintana Roo. Other companies include Mazorca Negra and Wellnuts.

These edible products are primarily for the Japanese market. For the US market, the ten companies are working to ensure they meet all export requirements. Carrillo will also be visiting Belize to discuss tariff reductions and other fiscal charges on Quintana Roo products with representatives from the Ministry of Trade. This is in an effort to establish a trade channel with the Caribbean Community (Caricom) and promote the export of Quintana Roo and Mexican products.

Quintana Roo is expected to become a crucial state for goods transportation once the freight service of the Maya Train is operational. This will be linked to the Chetumal Industrial Park with Tax Enclosure, attracting companies to manufacture goods and take advantage of the free trade zone status to market and export products to Central America.

In line with this, the Exportable Supply Validation Program has been initiated. The Mexican Foreign Trade Council (Comce-south region) is participating in this program to enhance the international competitiveness of local companies. The program prepares participating companies in key areas such as export price formation, international logistics, payment mechanisms, international negotiations, and potential market analysis.
