A fire broke out at "Eco Cabins", a business specializing in the construction of ecological cabins, this afternoon. The incident occurred on Playa del Carmen boulevard, nearly opposite the Corasol complex. The fire started in the rear of the premises where wood was stored, which was rapidly engulfed by the flames. The blaze threatened to spread to the administrative offices of the business.
Local law enforcement, civil protection units, and firefighters were quick to respond to the scene. They secured the area to effectively combat the fire, which produced a large column of smoke visible from several kilometers away.
In the meantime, employees began evacuating important items from the premises. They removed computer equipment, crucial documents, and other valuables to prevent potential damage from the fire. Workers from a neighboring pool sales business also pitched in, using buckets of water to stop the flames from reaching the wooden fence that separated the two properties.
Firefighters used three water pumps to bring the fire under control. The blaze reduced the stored wood, intended for the construction of luxury cabins, to ashes. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries in the incident.
