“ADO Manager: Quintana Roo Roads Safe Despite Robbery Incident”

Despite an attempted robbery on a bus carrying vacationers near Puerto Morelos last March, Lourdes Jimenez, the manager of ADO Riviera Maya, has assured that the roads of Quintana Roo are safe.

She elaborated on the incident, explaining that a passenger noticed two others attempting to steal their belongings during a journey from Cancun to Playa del Carmen. The alert passenger sought the driver's assistance, who promptly stopped at a police checkpoint at the entrance to Solidaridad. The suspected thieves were subsequently arrested.

Jimenez emphasized that the federal and state roads are some of the safest in the Yucatan Peninsula, which is frequently traversed by passenger transport units.
