Athletes from Quintana Roo delivered an impressive performance at the Second South American Juvenile Sailing Championship. They secured both first and second place, contributing to two of the three trophies won by the Mexican Sailing Team. The championship took place in Paracas, Peru.

The athletes from Quintana Roo played a pivotal role in the national team's success. This reaffirms the region's reputation for producing significant sports talent. The Quintana Roo Sports Commission (CODEQ), under the leadership of Jacobo Arzate Hop, prioritizes supporting athletes to excel in their respective disciplines. This aligns with the New Agreement for Well-being and Development, an initiative promoted by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa.

The stand-out performer from the national team was Jerónimo Abogado Irish'Stephenson, who represents the Puerto Cancun Club. He was crowned South American Champion 2024 after securing first place in the IQ Foil test. Jerónimo trains under the current State Sports Award-winning coach, José Antonio Ramos Trujillo.

Another Quintana Roo athlete who performed notably was Flavio Montoya Moreno, also a representative of the Puerto Cancun Sailing Club. He was awarded the Pan American runner-up after securing second place.
