This year, an increasing number of Mexicans are planning vacations in Quintana Roo. While Airbnb remains a popular choice, the majority prefer to stay in four and five-star hotels offering all-inclusive packages.

According to data from travel platform Despegar.com, Mexican travelers' top five summer vacation destinations are Cancún, Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlán, and Playa del Carmen. The preference for all-inclusive options is due to the convenience and perceived value, as these packages often include meals, drinks, and entertainment.

Summer 2024 has seen a 21% increase in hotel bookings in Quintana Roo by domestic tourists compared to the same period last year. This rise in interest is supported by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography's "Consumer Confidence Indicator", which suggests that more Mexicans feel financially capable of vacationing due to an improved economic outlook compared to the previous year.

A recent report from the Federal Tourism Secretariat reveals that 44% of Mexican travelers prefer beach vacations. When it comes to spending on a trip to Quintana Roo, travelers plan to budget around 12,000 pesos. This includes costs for airfare or car travel, hotel accommodations, and miscellaneous expenses.

Younger individuals, particularly those aged 17 to 29 and belonging to the middle and upper-middle class, are the most eager to visit the Mexican Caribbean coast in the coming weeks, according to YouGov Global Profiles.
