The Civil Protection Coordination in the state of Quintana Roo has released a list of available hurricane shelters. These shelters are prepared to offer refuge to residents across the state’s 11 municipalities. The announcement comes in response to the threat posed by Hurricane “Beryl” and several low-pressure zones currently being monitored in the Atlantic Ocean. These shelters are available for anyone in need during the storm’s passage.
The state of Quintana Roo has issued a Green Alert in response to Hurricane “Beryl”. The Civil Protection Coordination has prepared a list of hurricane shelters ready to provide refuge for residents across the state’s 11 municipalities. In addition to “Beryl”, there is a low-pressure zone associated with a tropical wave that is under observation. This low-pressure zone has an 80% chance of developing into a cyclone within 48 hours and a 100% chance within a week. It is currently located approximately 135 km northeast of the Port of Veracruz and is moving in a west-northwest direction at a speed of 16 to 24 km/h.
Another low-pressure zone associated with a tropical wave is also under observation. This zone has a 40% chance of developing into a cyclone within 48 hours and a 70% chance within a week. It is currently located southwest of the Cape Verde Islands, approximately 5,915 km east of the coasts of Quintana Roo and is moving west at a speed of 24 to 32 km/h.
The hurricane shelters in Quintana Roo are ready and equipped to provide assistance to anyone who needs it during these storms.
