Quintana Roo Swimmers Smash Records with 71 Gold Medals!

Quintana Roo swimmers had a remarkable day at the 2024 Nacionales Conade, setting a new record for the most gold medals won at a single event by racking up 71 medals. They also secured a silver and two bronze medals during the competition at the CODE Aquatic Centre in Guadalajara, Jalisco.

The record-breaking gold medal was clinched by Naiara Sobreviela Jiménez, a swimmer from Solidaridad. She triumphed in the 50-meter freestyle event and also bagged a bronze in the 200-meter freestyle. The 70th gold medal for the municipality was won in the 4×100 women's relay in the 15-15 age category. Quintana Roo's Carlotta Martinez, Guillermina Ortiz, Blanca Patricia Vázquez, and Martha Ortiz particularly stood out in this event, finishing as champions.

Quintana Roo's golden streak continued with the team comprising Jesús Aguilar, Jack Oliver Lund, Erwin Daniel Zetina Canto, and Rodrigo Pérez Galera. They emerged victorious in the men's relay in the 17-18 age group, earning the 71st gold medal.
