The ongoing teachers strike in Quintana Roo is causing growing concern among local residents. Each day of the strike not only represents a day of hardship for the teaching community, but also jeopardizes the education of over 18,000 students statewide. The situation is set to escalate with a march planned in Cancún on Wednesday, March 19, which will result in several street closures.
On Tuesday, March 18, it was announced that teachers from various high schools would be joining the strike in Quintana Roo, suspending their duties after 18 days of continuous strikes. Parents across the state have also shown their support for the cause, participating in marches in several municipalities, including Cancún. They are urging the Mexican Government to address their concerns, resolve the issue promptly, and resume classes in Quintana Roo.
