The National Electoral Institute (INE) of Mexico will establish 16 special polling stations across nine municipalities in the state of Quintana Roo. This is in preparation for the elections scheduled for Sunday, June 2.
The initiative aims to accommodate tourists visiting Quintana Roo during the election period. The special polling stations will enable individuals who are away from their registered state to vote for various positions, including the presidency, federal deputies, and senators.
In Federal District 1, based in Solidaridad, three polling stations will be set up. The Cozumel station will be at Plaza del Sol la Esmeralda, while Playa del Carmen will host a double polling station at General Secondary School No. 10 "Ignacio Zaragoza". The Puerto Morelos station will be at Primary School "Adolfo López Mateos".
For District 2, based in Othón P. Blanco, the polling stations will be located at Felipe Carrillo Puerto's Casa de la Cultura, José María Morelos Commercial Academy in José María Morelos, and up to four stations at the Nohoch Sukum Gymnasium in Chetumal, the capital of Quintana Roo.
In District 3, based in Cancún, a double polling station will be set up at the Municipal Palace of Benito Juárez. Federal District 4, also based in Cancún, will have two stations, one at the Ka’Yok' Planetarium in Cancún and the other at the Kukulcán boulevard's kilometer in the Hotel Zone of Cancún.
It's important to note that these special polling stations are intended for individuals traveling in other states, not for residents voting in a different section of their locality. The stations will operate from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and each will have a thousand ballots.
So if you find yourself in Quintana Roo during the election period, these are the locations where you can cast your vote.
