The Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) has given its stamp of approval to the State Riviera Maya Development project. This project is an expansion of the master plan for the Vidanta hotel's condominium and service area, with a focus on entertainment.

The development will take place on a 440-hectare plot, initially earmarked for the Maya Train's route in Section 5. The commercial society Marina Vallarta has secured a 10-year permit for the hotel project.

The project includes amusement rides, a restaurant, a small market, family games in a fair-style setting, and outdoor recreational activities. These features will be integrated into the natural environment, providing visitors with entertainment and enjoyment.

The project also plans to interconnect attractions and infrastructure using walkways and eco-friendly concrete roads. The location of the project is north of Playa del Carmen, bordering the municipality of Puerto Morelos, where the Cirque du Soleil Joya theater is situated.

As previously reported, in April, the Vidanta Group announced plans to build a luxury 12-hole golf course in the Riviera Maya jungle. This development, spanning a 47-hectare plot, will preserve areas for wildlife refuge and feeding. The project, named "The Jungle Golf by Vidanta", is expected to take 10 years to complete and is managed by the Marina Vallarta Development company. It will also feature an artificial lake with a capacity of over 12,000 cubic meters of water.
