Shocking Street Attack: Seafood Vendor Killed with Helmet

A seafood vendor tragically lost his life on Saturday evening in a violent incident on the streets of Chicxulub Puerto, a district in Progreso. The victim, known as Bartolo, was riding his motorcycle on 23rd Street, between 12th and 14th streets, when he was confronted by a man named José.

The confrontation began with verbal hostility before escalating to physical violence. José reportedly used a helmet to attack Bartolo, causing severe injuries. Despite his wounds, Bartolo managed to flee to a nearby warehouse on 23rd Street, between 8th and 8A, where he ultimately collapsed.

Bystanders attempted to assist the injured man, but despite their efforts, Bartolo did not survive. Paramedics were called to the scene, but upon arrival, they found no signs of life.

José, identified as the attacker, was apprehended while returning to his home. He was taken into custody at the local jail as investigations into the incident continue. Both Bartolo and José were residents of the same district.

In a disturbing twist, it was revealed that José had allegedly assaulted his wife the previous day while under the influence of illicit substances. Despite authorities being alerted to the incident, no arrest was made at that time.
