Mysterious Search Operation in Isla Mujeres Unravels Shocking Story

Diving experts from the Navy and Civil Protection have conducted a search operation for skeletal remains in Salina Grande. This operation is in aid of the Quintana Roo Prosecutor's Office, which is currently investigating three separate incidents from the past two years.

Initially, it was believed to be a simple drill by the authorities. However, it was revealed to be a search for skeletal remains. The organization "Searching Mothers" was invited to participate. This group is currently trying to locate ten missing individuals, three from Isla Mujeres and seven from the municipality of Benito Juárez.

Also present at the operation were the mother and brother of René Alfonso Miam Poot, who was last seen entering the Makax fishing cooperative on July 24, 2023.

During the operation, Deysi Blanco, a member of the Searching Mothers, criticized the state prosecutor, Raciel López Salazar, for his lack of attention to her case. She labeled him as "corrupt", noting that the investigation into her daughter's disappearance, along with other missing persons cases, has not progressed.

The search operation is also expected to extend to the waters of Makax Lagoon, as suggested by a member of the state prosecutor's office during the operation. However, no information regarding any discoveries was released following the search in the lagoon bed on Wednesday afternoon.
