Major Accident in Cancún Boulevard Causes Chaos

A serious accident occurred in the early hours of February 9, 2025, on Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard in Cancún. The incident took place at the intersection with Sierra Madre Street, in the superblock 311 area. A man suffered severe injuries and significant property damage after losing control of his vehicle.

The accident was reported at approximately 00:27 hours. The driver of a gray Audi lost control, crashing into the central median and ending up in the opposite lane. The impact trapped the driver inside his vehicle, requiring immediate assistance from emergency services.

Members of the Heroic Fire Department and the Urban Rescue Unit responded to the scene. They used hydraulic equipment to free the driver from the wreckage. Meanwhile, paramedics from Red Cross Mexico provided medical care at the scene before transporting the driver to a hospital for further treatment.

To ensure safety and prevent further accidents, Traffic agents from Benito Juárez secured the area. They diverted traffic and managed circulation while rescue operations were in progress. They also initiated investigations to determine the cause of the accident and assign responsibilities.

The vehicle was completely destroyed in the accident and was subsequently removed from the scene by a tow truck. Rescue teams cleaned up the roadway to restore the flow of traffic.
