A collaborative operation involving the National Guard and the Attorney General's Office of Quintana Roo led to the rescue of 14 women from a sexual exploitation ring in Playa del Carmen, within the Solidaridad municipality. The manager of the establishment, identified as Adrian “N”, was arrested during the raid.
The rescued women include 10 Mexicans and four from Peru, Colombia, Argentina, and Venezuela. All of them were coerced into providing sexual services. The Attorney General's Office stated that the arrested individual was responsible for recruiting the victims, luring them with the promise of significant financial gains. This was done by exploiting their economic hardships and, in the case of the foreign women, their immigration status.
The women were forced to provide sexual services and faced financial penalties if they failed to meet the manager's demands. This form of exploitation is typical in human trafficking cases, where the victims' circumstances are manipulated to maintain their vulnerability and subjugation.
The operation took place in an establishment located on the Cancun-Tulum federal highway, specifically between Juarez Avenue and 1st South Street, in Solidaridad. After the rescue, the premises were secured, and official seals were placed to prevent further operation.
Adrian “N” was detained and is currently in the custody of the Public Ministry. His legal status will be determined within the legally established timeframe. The primary goal of such operations is not only to rescue the victims but also to bring the perpetrators of these heinous crimes to justice.
The victims were relocated to a confidential location to receive the necessary care. The four foreign women were brought before the Attorney General's Office to provide their statements.
