SHOCKING: Akumal Pole Collapse Blamed on Electricity Negligence

A sunny street with traditional thatched-roof structures, high walls with concertina wire, a few buildings with satellite dishes, a clear blue sky, and minimal foot traffic with an auto rickshaw parked on the side.

A utility pole in Akumal recently collapsed due to the neglect of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE). This incident occurred despite multiple reports warning of the pole's deteriorating condition.

Julio Cesar, a local worker, reported that over five complaints were lodged with the CFE, urging them to replace the dangerous pole. However, these warnings were consistently ignored.

Cesar revealed that just last week another report was filed after a young tourist was electrocuted by the pole. The pole's rods were exposed and conducting electricity due to its poor condition.

Cesar also noted another pole on the same street, but on the opposite side, is on the verge of collapse. Despite its similarly deplorable condition, the CFE has not taken action to prevent a potential accident.

Cesar strongly urged the federal government to address these issues promptly. The location of these damaged poles poses a significant risk to the hundreds of tourists that visit the area.
