An ambulance with "ISSSTE" on the back parked outside a building on a sunny day with several people in the background.

A man was injured in a shooting that took place in the Prado Norte area of Cancún. The incident happened on Wednesday near the Willy's store on 3rd Avenue. Initial reports suggest that the victim was sitting on a sidewalk in front of a building when he was approached by two individuals on a motorcycle.

The pair opened fire on the man, discharging at least 11 rounds. The majority of these shots struck the victim, causing him significant injuries. Private medical personnel were on the scene quickly, rushing the injured man to the General Hospital for immediate treatment of his multiple wounds.

Police arrived shortly after to secure the area and preserve the crime scene. Forensic experts from the State Attorney's Office were called in to collect the spent bullet casings.

At the scene, a fanny pack filled with drugs was discovered, hinting at a potential involvement in drug trafficking. As of now, there have been no reported arrests related to this serious incident.
