The Transparency Unit of Benito Juárez City Hall has extended the registration deadline for the Municipal Short Film Contest on Transparency “Tell Me in Short 2024”. This extension is aimed at providing more opportunities for young residents of Cancún aged 13 to 17. The new closing date for registration is now Tuesday, January 14th.
The central theme of the contest is the Protection of Personal Data and the Digital Rights of Girls, Boys, and Adolescents. Participants can submit their entries in a format of up to 90 seconds, recorded with mobile devices, sports cameras, video or photographic cameras, or even using animation techniques.
The internal selection process will run until Wednesday, January 15th. From Thursday, January 16th to Monday, January 20th, the competing short films will be published on official networks for public voting. This will determine the winner of the “Audience Prize”.
The qualifying jury will convene on Tuesday, January 21st to determine the top three entries. The winners will then be announced on Wednesday, January 22nd, and will be honored at an award ceremony scheduled for January 28th.
The grading criteria for the contest are: content, message, objectivity, duration, originality, creativity, and image and sound aspects. Additional points will be awarded for entries that incorporate perspectives and focuses such as: gender perspective, youth, inclusion of people with disabilities, interculturality, sexual diversity, Mexican Sign Language (LSM), and national indigenous languages.
