In the near future, the Mayor of Solidaridad, Estefanía Mercado, will be unveiling significant projects that mark the beginning of a transformative phase for the municipality. Mercado's administration is dedicated to serving the citizens and working towards their well-being and prosperity.

Mercado has declared 2025 as a landmark year for Solidaridad, predicting major improvements that will enhance the quality of life and prosperity for its residents. As the New Year begins, she has shared a message of encouragement, peace, and hope with the citizens, emphasizing that her government is committed to serving the people.

This year, 900 million pesos will be invested in construction, maintenance, and refurbishment of public spaces such as the parks in Villas del Sol. The funds will also be used for street construction and public lighting. Additionally, 100 million pesos have been earmarked for sports infrastructure to address the existing backlog in this area and provide quality spaces for community members of all ages.

Mercado detailed that 278 million pesos will be used for paving 12 main avenues, ensuring the work meets international standards for longevity. She clarified that the pavement thickness will be between 5 and 7 centimeters, a significant increase from the previous standard of one centimeter.

Several major projects initiated early in Mercado's term, such as the Civic Square of Puerto Aventuras, are nearing completion. The Mayor announced, "We will be inaugurating various social infrastructure projects that directly benefit the citizens of Solidaridad. In just a hundred days, we have revitalized three parks, including Leona Vicario. We will also be unveiling the second park in Villas del Sol and the refurbished Market on 10th avenue."

In an effort to enhance the urban image of Playa del Carmen, the government will invest 228 million pesos to improve access to the city. A further 40 million pesos will be allocated for a high-tech entrance arch to Playa del Carmen. Other investments include 19 million pesos for new Citizen Security patrol vehicles and 168 million for comprehensive waste collection and disposal services.

Mercado acknowledged that there are numerous projects to be undertaken, all of which represent significant steps towards the transformation of Solidaridad. The budget for the fiscal year 2025 is set at 4 billion 344 million 514 thousand 094 pesos.
