Puerto Aventuras Mayoralty Election Process Approved by Solidaridad Council

The Solidaridad Council has unanimously approved a call to elect members of the Puerto Aventuras Mayoralty for the 2024-2027 constitutional period. The decision was made during the Fourth Ordinary Session, presided over by Mayor Estefanía Mercado.

The election process will adhere to the terms and conditions outlined in the Quintana Roo Municipal Law, the Election Regulations of the Decentralized Auxiliary Bodies, and the Deconcentrated Bodies of the Municipal Public Administration of Solidaridad.

The Operating Commission of the Neighborhood Assembly for the Election of members of the Puerto Aventuras Mayoralty will include Luis Herrera Quiam, the general secretary of the Municipality, as president. Guillermo Andrés Brahms González, the Legal and Consultative Secretary, will serve as a member responsible for resolving any legal disputes during the election process.

Erwin Fernando Aguilar Díaz, the Government Director, will be responsible for organizing and setting up polling stations. Raúl Alberto Tassinari González, the Secretary of Citizen Security, will oversee public order during the election process, ensuring the safety of facilities and electoral officials.

The Election Committee will consist of councilors Uri Carmona Islas, Javier Renán Santos Morales, Xel-Ha María Elena Dehesa Cortés, Marian Solís Arriaga, Nellyadi Anaiza Quian Medina, Juan Humberto Novelo Zapata, and Saúl Jamin Barbosa Heredia.

In the same session, the council also approved the creation of the Council Commission of the Rights of Children and Adolescents. This decision led to an amendment in the Internal Rules of the Honorable Constitutional City Council of the Municipality of Solidaridad

Councilwoman Matilde Carrillo Vejar will serve as the President of the Commission, with Nellyadi Anaiza Quian Medina as the secretary and María de los Milagros Álvarez Vidal as a member.

The council members expressed their support for the initiative, which marks the first Council Commission of the Rights of Children and Adolescents in the State of Quintana Roo. They committed to working together for the benefit of this important societal sector.
