The Ministry of Citizen Security in the city of Solidaridad has initiated discussions with local motorcycle club representatives. The goal is to ensure that their rides are conducted in an orderly fashion, respecting municipal traffic regulations, and without impacting local citizens or causing accidents.
Raúl Tassinari González, the head of the police department, has instructed the Traffic and Road Police, led by Arturo Pech Martínez, to facilitate these discussions. The focus is on encouraging motorcyclists to adhere to existing regulations. This includes reducing the number of accidents that endanger them, limiting environmental noise from modified exhausts, and preventing disruptions to vehicular traffic.
Mayor Estefanía Mercado has emphasized the importance of open dialogue and engagement with all community sectors. As part of this initiative, motorcycle club members have been offered the opportunity to regularize their vehicles, participate in free driving courses, and receive certification. There is also a program in place to eliminate modified exhausts.
Manuel Abascal López, a representative of one of the motorcycle groups, expressed satisfaction with the authorities' proactive approach to promoting communal welfare. He highlighted that these rides are a form of recreation for participants and that they are committed to ensuring they do not negatively impact others.
Arturo Pech Martínez, head of the Traffic department, stressed the importance of raising awareness, coordinating efforts, and enjoying recreational activities without infringing upon the rights of other citizens. He underscored the necessity of adhering to traffic regulations.
