Experience Spring Equinox 2025 at Quintana Roo’s Hidden Sites

The Spring Equinox 2025, an event frequently associated with the pyramid of Chichen Itza, can also be observed at several archaeological sites in Quintana Roo. The term 'equinox' is Latin for 'equal night'. This astronomical event occurs twice yearly, in spring and fall, and represents the moment when the Sun is directly over the Earth's Equator. As a result, day and night are approximately twelve hours long worldwide.

The Chichen Itza Archaeological Zone will be closed for the Spring Equinox 2025. However, there are other locations in Quintana Roo where you can witness this phenomenon.
